About Phare

Management consulting in commercial strategy, market analysis and operating performance.

Commercial questions, examined in detail

Phare Consulting Group works on the choices behind business growth and performance. Services include corporate strategy, market entry, portfolio allocation, pricing, cost improvement, operating-model design and pre-transaction commercial review.

The subject determines the analysis. A pricing assignment may require invoice-level reconciliation and a review of commercial terms. A market-entry decision may depend on buying requirements, distribution economics and the capabilities needed to serve a new segment. We define the work around those requirements.

A common basis for comparison

Management reports can describe the same business differently. Sales may use bookings, finance may report recognized revenue, and operations may measure the workload required to serve each account. A useful assessment explains how those views relate before drawing a conclusion.

We distinguish source information from estimates and document limitations that could affect a recommendation. Alternatives are compared using consistent assumptions about customers, costs, investment and operating capacity. Open questions remain visible in the report.

Work that can be put into practice

A recommendation includes the operating changes it requires. Depending on the assignment, that may mean a revised commercial policy, a clearer division of responsibilities, a cost program or further research before an investment is approved.

Scope, deliverables, information access and working arrangements are agreed for each engagement. Implementation support is included only when it forms part of that agreement.

Professional boundaries

  • Management remains responsible for business decisions and implementation approvals.
  • Legal, tax, audit, regulated investment and clinical advice require the appropriate qualified specialists.
  • An initial inquiry should describe the work without including sensitive customer, employee or patient records.
